Minimum Hardware:

• Apple Mac Pro tower with latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard v10.6
• Processor - Intel Dual Quad Core - 2.66Ghz minimum, 2.93 Ghz recommended
• RAM - 6GB RAM
• GUI Card - GT120 GUI GPU from Apple. - located in slot 2
• GPU Card - Nvidia Quadro FX4800 for image processing
• I/O Card - BMD Decklink HD Extreme 3 or 3D

Storage Option 1 - Using Mac OS Extended:

• Recommended: Apple RAID card with four internal drives
• Minimum: Software RAID 0 with four internal drives
• User should relocate boot drive to 2nd optical bay

Storage Option 2 - SAN-connected

• ATTO dual 4Gb FC card to a StorNext SAN
• Xsan license needed for the Mac Pro to connect to StorNext

Slot 1-Nvidia Quadro FX4800 - double wide slot - no external connections to monitors
Slot 2-GT120 - connects the display port to a 1920x1200 DVI monitor
Slot 3-Fibre-Channel/RAID card or Decklink for AV I/O
Slot 4-Fibre-Channel/RAID card or Decklink for AV I/O

Additional Information:

Resolve on Mac operates with the mouse, the new USB-based Blackmagic Resolve panels and also the Tangent Wave panels (limited features today). Resolve for Mac does not and cannot work with the legacy Resolve 2K panels.

Blackmagic is working to add other third party panels as soon as possible. The Linux v7.0 of the software uses the new USB based BMD panels or 2K legacy panels. Linux version cannot work with third party panels.

To play/record various Quicktime formats (including ProRes) codecs are available if you install Final Cut Studio. Resolve uses the codec libraries from Final Cut Studio.
